Attention Jakaesi Artists!

Now, I'm not going to point fingers or name names here,
JOHNNY,
but somebody has been leaking information to the public about our awesome action movie that's in production.
How do I know? Because one Matt Feddock made an amazing movie poster to go along with its release.

I know you're all fixed on its spectacular beauty, but listen to what I'm saying as you ogle the poster.
I believe I recall telling you that this movie was very sensitive information and that we would have to shut it down completely if word ever got out about it. Well, thanks to somebody here *coughJOHNNYcough*, we can't continue production. That's right, the movie's OFF! Now, I don't support vigilantes, but off the record, I suggest that we hunt down whoever squealed and make them pay accordingly.
As a consolation to losing what would probably have been the greatest movie in recorded history, I'm letting everyone keep the poster, as well as releasing it to the public. Now let's get this unofficial witch hunt started!

Shitbag, Aye

Whups.
Okay, so for those of you awesome individuals checking in and expecting an update, allow me to give you the reason you're not seeing it.

Yeah, me.
Shocker.

After a while of not getting updates, we questioned who was supposed to have the next stanza in our A Very Jak'd Up Christmas Special (1). After a little while (like, second, really) it became painfully obvious that this shitbag *indicates self* had it.

So my apologies, all! I've been a bit out of it lately. I'm starting work on this stanza right now and it should be ready in the next couple days.

Yours author,
-Shtibag.

December, already?

It's December, now, and we've all donned our heavy coats and mittens to fend off frostbite.
Except for Brad, of course, 'cause he's in Texas.
December seems to have come so quickly and with it comes the realization that the lot of us were introduced to one another a year ago next month. We became fast friends and I can't express enough how much of a blessing these friends of mine are in my life. Kansas, California, Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania, and England- we've got the map pretty well covered. As unconventional or new-age as it may be to have a clique of pals from all corners of the world, it only makes our friendships richer. We get along so well and have similar senses of humor and of course, we all love comicking. That common thread between us is what drives us to have fun with Jakaesi and make it available for you. I say it that way because, honestly, I'm sure if it was only us that ever saw our comic we'd have a ton of fun creating it together, brainstorming, seeing our ideas come to life, and watching each other grow -not only in art style- but as people.

We sometimes describe Jak as a webcomic sitcom. It's what life would be like if the seven of us were together each day and what hilarities would ensue. I hope that through the weeks of updates you'll get to know my friends and love them as I do!

Wow.

I can't believe this happened, but I'm so amazingly glad that it did.

This week, I've been getting hit, so damn hard, by work with my Navy IS A School stuff. Seriously? I test tomorrow, on a unit we started yesterday. This is the longest and most difficult unit in A School (or so I'm told), and we've got about half the time we're supposed to get because of Thanksgiving next week.

Which, incidently, I don't get to go home for, because I'm (trying to) going home for Christmas.

On top of that, my car apparently is too shitty to make the trip from my house to my base, so I'm not going to have a car until I graduate C School (after A School) and go home. I'm just a reservist, so we get to do that. Sometimes.

So, I've spent, over the past two days, about 22 hours in my classroom studying for this test. It's driving me insane, my right eye has developed a mild twitch and I want to kill something.

So imagine my surprise when, despite all this SHIT, I get back to my barracks, boot up the computer and find that one of you drew up some fan art for Jakaesi.

Mathew Fedock, I cannot thank you enough. Seeing that helped me out more than you know.

Mr. Fedock found Jakaesi through Adam's other comic, Permenantly Seated, an occasionally updated autobiographical strip (http://www.permanentlyseated.com/)

For anyone curious about this thing, well, here it is:

So thanks a ton, Matt. I owe ya one.

Now to go fail the crap out of that test.

Woo!

And with that, we end the first arc. I found it fitting that Carey "Blitz", our newest member, was the one to end it.

For a while, we'll be doing some one-shot pages. During that time we're going to plan out our next arc.

Thanks for following us this far, we hope you enjoy what we have in store for ya!

Jumpy

So if you haven't noticed, the comic seems to be jumping around a lot. Or maybe that's just my take on it. Who knows? I'm known to be crazy.

But the reason behind it is we all have each other's scripts, but sometimes someone misses an update, and that makes us skip a bit.

Sorry!

Hoo Ya!

I am BACK!
God that is good to say. One more time.
I AM BACK!

So yeah, what a surprise, boot camp sucked. But it's over and I'm officially in the U.S. Navy.

As of right now, I'm in my A School to become an Intelligence Specialist in the Navy. Like 99% of what I do in my classes here is gonna be classified.
Cool, huh?

But when I'm not in class life is pretty good. I live pretty much like a civilian then. As such, my participation with Jakaesi is active again!

My first page went up today. I hope you enjoy it and continue to follow along with Jakaesi for a good, long time, as I intend to continue making it as long as I can.

See you next week!

Finally Starting

Jakaesi was originally, as the comics have shown, going to be 7 artist each making a comic for each day with a mixture intertwined stories arcs and one shots, but alas, time makes fools of our plans, and most of our artist aren't exactly available as of this moment.

However, myself, and hopefully doug, have decided to begin this awesome project and hope the other artist will follow suit when they have the time. I'll hopefully get the first strip up monday.
